Israeli soldier killed in Hezbollah drone attack near Lebanon border
The Israeli military said a soldier was killed in a drone attack launched by Hezbollah towards the Manara area near the border with Lebanon on Sunday.
The death brings the number of Israeli soldiers killed since clashes between Hezbollah and Israel escalated at the beginning of March to 18, according to the army.
Israeli media reported that the military carried out airstrikes and artillery shelling on positions in southern Lebanon following the attack, while explosions were heard in the Galilee region in northern Israel.
Hezbollah later said it had targeted an Israeli force inside a house in the southern Lebanese town of Al-Taybeh as cross-border fighting continued.
