Hezbollah fires rockets, citing Israeli ceasefire violations

Hezbollah says it has launched rockets towards northern Israel, describing the attack as a response to Israeli breaches of the ceasefire.

"To defend Lebanon and its people, and in response to the violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli enemy and its attacks against the city of Yater, in southern Lebanon," Hezbollah "targeted the settlement of Shtula with a salvo of rockets", the group said

The Israeli military said it detected and intercepted “several shots originating from Lebanon and penetrating into Israeli territory”.

The exchange comes as Lebanese and Israeli representatives prepare for a second round of talks in Washington, underscoring the fragility of the ceasefire as tensions persist along the border.
