Qatar, GCC condemn Iranian drone attacks on Bahrain
Both the Qatari foreign ministry and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on Bahrain, after reports emerged that drones targeted its territory.
In a statement to X, Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed al-Budaiwi said he “condemns in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain and its targeting of civilian infrastructure and properties”.
Qatar called for “continuing on the path of dialogue and diplomacy, de-escalation, and building on the gains achieved within the framework of the memorandum of understanding, in a manner that contributes to consolidating security and stability at both the regional and international levels”.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps said it was attacking US-linked targets in retaliation for the US strike on its territory.
