US Centcom says it redirected 70 vessels since blockade of Hormuz began

US Central Command (Centcom) released a post to X on Thursday which claimed its forces have “redirected” 70 commercial ships and “disabled” four others to “ensure compliance” of its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

This follows a statement from Iran which announced it would allow commercial vessels to pass if they comply with the Iranian navy, and reports that multiple Chinese ships crossed the Strait on the eve of Trump’s meeting with Xi Jinping.

A Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 50 lands on the flight deck of USS Truxtun (DDG 103) as the ship transits the Arabian Sea and supports the U.S. blockade against Iran.
