'Two amazing days ahead': Trump says extending truce won't be necessary
US President Donald Trump said he is not considering extending the ceasefire with Iran, describing a negotiated agreement as the “best option” as the conflict nears its end.
Speaking to an ABC News correspondent, Trump said, “I’m not thinking about extending the ceasefire, nor do I see that as necessary, and you’re going to see two amazing days ahead.”
Trump added that a deal would allow Iran to rebuild, while claiming changes within the country’s system.
“Whatever the case, we have removed the extremists,” he said, adding that the war is “nearing its end” even as negotiations continue.
