Tucker Carlson: After 9/11, I was 'hysterical' about Islam
American political commentator Tucker Carlson has said that after the 9/11 attacks on New York, he was "hysterical" about Muslims, having "bought the lies" about being "under siege from global Islam".
In an interview with Sky News, the conservative media personality, who has become a noted critic of Israel and Israeli influence in US politics, said that he along with many Americans had once believed that there were a billion Muslims out there "trying to kill them".
“Many times on television I said: 'The problem is Islam. The problem is Muslims. They all want to kill us. They're all crazy. They're all in this lunatic suicide cult created by Mohammed in the 7th century.' And I believed that," Carlson said.
"I was hysterical. I believed that. Now, that's not true. Nothing about that is true, but I believed it." Carlson said that because of this, it was harder for him to judge Israelis who also believe that "every Arab, Christian or Muslim", was intent on killing them.
