Trump says Israel and Iran want ‘immediate ceasefire’

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that both Israel and Iran were seeking an immediate ceasefire, as renewed exchanges between the two countries threatened to unravel a fragile truce.

“Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added that final peace negotiations were continuing, but warned they could still be derailed by “ignorance or stupidity".
