Rubio to visit Gulf states for talks on US-Iran agreement
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to visit Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, as Washington seeks to build regional support following the agreement reached with Iran.
Rubio will attend a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Bahrain, where discussions are expected to focus on the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran, as well as security and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The visit comes as Gulf states continue diplomatic efforts to preserve regional stability following the US-Israeli war on Iran.
