Pakistan PM says free passage at sea 'a global necessity'
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of freedom of navigation and maritime security, saying global trade and supply chains depend on the safe movement of vessels through international waters.
"The evolving regional situation has highlighted more than anything else the importance of maritime security for the global economy and international supply chains," Sharif said at the Pakistan Naval Academy.
"Today, the right of free passage and freedom of navigation are no longer luxuries but have become an absolute necessity for the entire world."
