Oil prices fall as US leaders strike positive note on Iran talks

Oil prices dropped by more than 1 percent as markets reacted to positive comments from US leaders on talks between Washington and Tehran.

Brent futures fell $1.38, or 1.89 percent, to $71.57 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude lost 92 cents, or 1.32 percent, to $68.58 a barrel, according to Reuters.

Both benchmarks closed at their lowest levels since March.

As we have been reporting, Trump and Vance earlier said talks were going "very well" and "extremely well", respectively.
