Officials of Hezbollah ally Amal Movement meet Iran's Ghalibaf
Speaker of Iran's Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met Khalil Hamdan, a senior member of Lebanon’s Hezbollah-allied Amal Movement, and other Lebanese officials in Tehran, Iranian media reports said.
Hamdan is part of the delegation that travelled to Iran to attend Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s funeral. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and emphasised the solidarity between Iran and Lebanon, as well as their respective parliaments, the reports said.
Amal is led by Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who recently said the trilateral framework agreement between Lebanon, Israel and the United States will not pass as it doesn’t guarantee Lebanon’s rights.
He had said it was “an agreement of dictates, not an agreement that preserves Lebanon’s rights”.
