Israeli army says it targeted vehicle near southern Lebanon 'security zone'

The Israeli army says it targeted southern Lebanon's Al-Aqida area, claiming that "four suspects" approaching the so-called security zone in a vehicle posed a threat to its forces.

As we reported earlier, four people were killed in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the neighbouring Nabatieh al-Fawqa area.

The victims included the principal of Youssef Shamoun Public School, her mother, a foreign domestic worker and a Syrian citizen.

They were checking on the family home when their vehicle was hit by a missile near Dar al-Muallimeen, Lebanon's National News Agency said.

It was unclear whether the Israeli military was referring to the same attack.
