Israel to reduce forces in southern Lebanon, army radio says
The Israeli military will reduce its forces in southern Lebanon, withdraw some combat brigades and increase its readiness levels, according to Israeli Army Radio.
The report said the army is also expected to begin rotating brigades between the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon in the coming period as part of its operational adjustments.
The development comes after Lebanon and Israel agreed to a deal as part of a trilateral framework with the United States in Washington on Friday, following five rounds of talks hosted by US President Donald Trump's administration.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called it "the beginning of the beginning" in remarks to reporters moments before the signing.
