Israel broadcasts images of forces at Beaufort Castle after capture claim
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation aired images showing the Israeli flag and the banner of the Golani Brigade flying above Beaufort Castle shortly after the military announced a “large-scale operation” in the Beaufort Ridge and Wadi al-Salouqi area of southern Lebanon.
The Israeli military also released footage of its troops in the area, saying, “Our forces have crossed the Litani [River] and expanded their attacks against Hezbollah to north of the river,” while warning that operations would expand into “additional areas”.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israeli forces had crossed the Litani River, adding that troops were also operating in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley.
