Iran's foreign ministry says ceasefire extension reports are unconfirmed

A spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry has told state media that reports about an extension to the ceasefire in the war on Iran are as yet unconfirmed.

AP reported earlier on Wednesday that mediators had moved closer to extending the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and to restarting negotiations to salvage the fragile truce, which expires on 22 April.
