Iran seeks guarantees against future attacks in US response, Tasnim reports
Tasnim News Agency published details of Iran’s response to an American proposal, citing a source who said Tehran’s reply stressed the need for an immediate end to the war and guarantees against any future aggression.
According to the report, the response also called for the lifting of sanctions, an end to fighting on all fronts and recognition of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
The report said Iran demanded an immediate end to the naval blockade upon signing an initial agreement and sought the lifting of US Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions related to Iranian oil sales within 30 days.
The response also called for the release of frozen Iranian assets, consistent with the initial understanding, and indicated that some American measures would be implemented within the same 30-day period.
