Iran says its enriched uranium ‘not on agenda’ for negotiations
Iran’s deputy secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Bagheri Kani, reiterated on Wednesday that Tehran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was off limits in ongoing talks with the United States.
“This issue is not on the agenda of the negotiations,” Kani told Fars news agency on Wednesday.
US President Donald Trump has said Washington will not allow Iran to retain its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60 percent, which is below the 90 percent threshold required for weapons-grade nuclear material.
