IAEA chief says Iran’s enriched uranium likely remains at Isfahan

Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said much of Iran’s highly enriched uranium was stored at Isfahan during US and Israeli strikes in June 2025 and is believed to still be there.

He said discussions have taken place with Russia and others about potentially removing the material from Iran, though this would require a political agreement or a major military operation.

Grossi said the priority is ensuring the uranium either leaves Iran or is diluted to lower enrichment levels.
