Hezbollah: Lebanon ceasefire included in latest Iranian proposal to US
Hezbollah says it has received a message from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stating that Lebanon’s inclusion in any agreement with the United States was explicitly emphasised in Tehran's latest proposal presnted to Pakistani mediators.
In the letter to Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem, Araghchi also reaffirmed Tehran’s continued support for Hezbollah and other groups in the region.
He said Iran would continue backing movements it describes as defending “rights and freedom” “until the very last moment”.
Araghchi added that Tehran has consistently pushed for any broader US-Iran agreement to include a ceasefire in Lebanon, describing this as a “firm principle” and part of Iran’s “legitimate demands”.
