Haaretz: Lebanon withdrawal seen as ‘no less dangerous’ than invasion
Israeli newspaper Haaretz, citing military officers and informed sources, reported that there is growing frustration within the Israeli army over not being kept informed about negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
According to the report, officers feel the military has been left out of discussions that could directly affect operations in Lebanon.
The report said the Israeli army is concerned about the possibility of being ordered to withdraw from Lebanon “under enemy fire”.
Officers quoted by Haaretz reportedly warned that the withdrawal process would be “no less dangerous and complex than the invasion itself”, raising concerns about the risks facing troops if a pull-out is ordered while hostilities continue.
