China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that US President Donald Trump and his counterpart Xi Jinping have reached "a series of new common understandings" during their landmark summit in Beijing.

According to the ministry's statement published on X, the two world leaders "agreed on a new vision of building a constructive China-U.S. relationship" that would guide their ties for the next three years and more, bringing further "peace, prosperity and progress to the world".

The two agreed to strengthen communication and coordination on internation and regional matters, the statement noted.

The ministry added that their meetings have "enhanced mutual understanding, deepened mutual trust, advanced practical cooperation, increased benefits for the people of both countries, and injected much-needed stability and certainty into the world".
