About 80 percent of war-damaged areas repaired in Tehran, Iranian official says

About 80 percent of sites damaged in Iran’s capital have been repaired, according to a report by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, cited by Al Jazeera.

“More than 60,000 residential and commercial units in Tehran province were hit by American-Zionist attacks during the third imposed war,” Tehran's Deputy Governor Seyyed Kamaleddin Mirjafarian said in the report.

The US-Israeli war on Iran began on 28 February. Bridges, ports, railway networks, universities, research centres, power plants, and water desalination facilities have been damaged or destroyed, along with hospitals, schools, and civilian homes.

US President Donald Trump on Monday said the ceasefire in place was on "life support" and "unbelievably weak" after rejecting a proposal from Iran.
