US Joint Chiefs of Staff head: 'Ceasefire is a pause'
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine has warned that the US-Iran ceasefire is "a pause", adding that troops "remain ready" to "resume combat operations" if called upon.
In a joint press conference with the US secretary of war, Pete Hegseth, Caine claimed that the US struck over 13,000 targets in Iran, destroyed 80 percent of its air defence systems, and over 90 percent of its navy fleet and weapons factories.
“It will take years for Iran to rebuild any major surface combatants,” he added.
