Palestinian youths injured in Israeli West Bank raids
A young Palestinian man was wounded on Friday evening by Israeli forces firing rubber-coated metal bullets during a military raid of the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said it treated the injuries of the 21-year-old man after he was shot at close range in the foot and back by Israeli weapons.
Another young man was detained by Israeli forces after being injured in live fire rounds during a military raid on Al-Arroub refugee camp on Friday evening, local sources told Wafa news agency.
Another was injured when Israeli settlers pepper sprayed citizens’ faces in an attack on shepherds in the area of Tal Ma’in, south of Hebron, Wafa news reported.
Settler violence in the occupied West Bank has surged in recent weeks while the Israeli cabinet secretly approved a record number of new settlements across the occupied West Bank.
The move was strongly condemned by the EU on Friday as a breach of international law.
