Morning recap

Good morning Middle East Eye readers,

Here are the latest updates on the US-Israeli war on Iran:

US President Donald Trump said in a televised address to the nation said that the war on Iran has left it "decimated" vowing to send the country back to the "stone age...where it belongs"

US President Donald Trump in his address said countries that receive oil through the Strait of Hormuz should show "courage" and seize the key waterway.

Gulf countries are revisiting costly plans for pipelines that would allow them to bypass Iran's restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz, Financial Times reports.

The Israeli military said air defences were responding to an Iranian missile salvo, shortly after Trump delivered an address.

The US Central Command (Centcom) announced that it struck over 12,300 targets in Iran since the start of the war in late February

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Thursday that original objectives of the war on Iran had been met, adding that it was not clear what more needs to be achieved
