Jakarta backs truce, calls for respect of sovereignty
The Indonesian foreign ministry said it welcomed the ceasefire and that all parties should respect sovereignty, territorial integrity and diplomacy.
Hours earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that there would be a ceasefire from both sides, stressing that significant progress had been made towards reaching a final agreement on a long-term peace with Iran.
Trump added, "We received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and we believe it's a viable basis for negotiation," confirming that he had agreed to a two-week halt to bombing and attacks on Iran.
