Friday recap: key events from the day in the US-Israeli war on Iran

Good afternoon Middle East Eye readers,

If you are just joining us, here are the latest updates:

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, said Iran will not engage in peace negotiations with the US until Israeli strikes on Lebanon are halted and the country's "blocked assets" are released.

Israeli attacks on Lebanon have continued, with 14 people killed in separate attacks on the Nabatieh governorate in the country's south.

Israel has expelled Spanish representatives from the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat, which is tasked with overseeing the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza, following comments from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez condemning Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

A Middle East Eye analysis has revealed that a British drone flew over Lebanon and circled near Baalbek on Wednesday, the day Israel hit Lebanon with a wave of strikes that killed more than 300 people, including 18 in the Beqaa Valley.

Pakistan's defence minister, Khawaja Asif, called Israel "evil" and a "curse for humanity" in an X post on Thursday night, just hours before US and Iranian delegations were due to arrive in Islamabad for peace talks mediated by Pakistan.
