Fired US general says soldiers deserve 'leaders of character'
The US Army’s former chief of staff, General Randy George, said soldiers deserve “leaders of character” in a farewell letter following his removal by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, according to The Hill.
George thanked officers for their support and urged them to remain focused on their mission.
“Our soldiers are truly the best in the world — they deserve tough training and courageous leaders of character,” he wrote.
“I know you’ll all continue to stay laser-focused on the mission … and get our warfighters what they need to win on the modern battlefield.”
