Democrat calls Trump's Iran rhetoric ‘psychotic,’ warns of war crimes
Democratic member of the US House of Representatives Jim McGovern criticised President Donald Trump’s latest statements on Iran, calling them “psychotic” and warning that US conduct in the war could violate international law.
“When the US degrades international humanitarian law, we invite others to do the same. That makes us all less safe,” McGovern wrote in a post on X.
He said international legal experts are raising concerns about “serious violations” of the Geneva Conventions and possible “war crimes.”
In a separate post, McGovern described Trump’s rhetoric as “totally unhinged and extremely dangerous,” adding, “This is psychotic. The President of the United States needs to get help.”
