As the world prepares for Easter, many Palestinian Christians are being blocked from reaching their holy sites as Israeli restrictions tighten further amid the war with Iran.
Israel has long restricted access for Palestinian worshippers in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. But this year, access to Jerusalem is severely limited, with site closures imposed and ceremonies cancelled during Holy Week.
On Palm Sunday, senior church leaders were prevented from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the first time in centuries
For a community that now makes up less than 2% of the population, their presence is under growing strain from Israeli occupation, land loss and settler violence.
So how did Palestinian Christians go from the “living stones” of Christianity to struggling to survive?
