An Israeli soldier has shared a photo online in which he appears to use a blindfolded Palestinian man to advertise a private business.

The image, which has circulated widely on social media, shows a Palestinian father who was reportedly detained by Israeli forces during a raid on his home in the occupied West Bank.

He is seen blindfolded and holding a sign bearing the Instagram handle @shilo_jewlry, alongside the words “Happy Passover” in Hebrew.

Amid a wave of online outrage, the account has since been deleted.

Social media users reacted with shock, describing the image as “depraved” and “abhorrent”.

The Israeli military told Middle East Eye it views the incident with "utmost severity".

"Upon the incident coming to light, the soldier was handled by the relevant commanders and was immediately suspended from reserve duty," it said.

Israeli forces carry out near-daily arrest raids across the occupied West Bank. These operations often involve the use of lethal force and physical assault against Palestinians.

Since the war in Gaza began, such incidents have sharply increased, with soldiers frequently documenting their actions.

Throughout the genocide, Israeli troops have widely shared footage from the ground offensive that some experts say may amount to war crimes.

Some videos show soldiers celebrating while blowing up civilian buildings, including homes, universities and mosques.

Other videos show a soldier forcing bound and blindfolded prisoners to send greetings to his family and say they want to be his slaves.

Soldiers were also photographed holding stacks of money looted from Palestinian homes in Gaza, while another clip shows an Israeli army bulldozer destroying a large pile of food parcels from a humanitarian aid agency.

In a separate video, an Israeli soldier is heard singing “next year we’ll burn the school” as a school in Gaza burns in the background.

Many other clips show Israeli soldiers posing in women’s underwear taken from Palestinian homes.
