Araghchi says Iran will halt fire if attacks stop, thanks Pakistan

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday said that Tehran would halt its military operations if attacks against the country stop.

“If attacks against Iran are halted, Iranian Armed Forces will also cease their defensive operations,” he said in a post on X.

Araghchi thanked Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military chief Asim Munir for mediation efforts and said Iran was responding to calls for negotiations.

He accused the United States and Israel of starting the war and violating international law, adding that Iran’s actions were carried out in “legitimate defence” targeting military and security positions.
